About the Author
Joyce P. Fincher is known as a Christian writer and inspirational speaker. Several of her devotionals appeared in Open Windows, a publication of Lifeway Christian Resources. She serves as the president of the East Metro Atlanta Christian Writers; in 2009, at the American Christian Writers Conference in Atlanta, GA, she received the Writer of the Year Award.

About my latest book, He'll Lead You Through Your Sea

Joyce Fincher sits in the second row of the church, waiting for her son's wedding to begin. It is a day of joy and celebration—a day every mother looks forward to with great excitement. In the midst of this celebration, Joyce's mind flashes back to days past to some of the most eventful situations in her life.  She recalls that if not for the darkness of some joyless days, God's light would not be so bright.

She remembers the day she met her husband, now deceased, and another wedding—her own, years prior. She remembers losing their first child at birth and the days following when her own health was in a desperate condition. Then, there was the joy of another son, a bundle of energy Joyce knew as a gift from God. Finally, there was a bout with a brain tumor, followed by a terrifying interstate situation.

Life is filled with major detours and unplanned tragedies. None of it is easy, and loss is unavoidable. Yet, Joyce Fincher survived to attend the wedding of her son, and her path to peace is one you will never forget. As Christians, we know in our hearts God is in control, but it can be easy to forget in our anger over bad times. He will lead you always, with hope, comfort, and strength, if only you will let Him.
